Define air capacity: If by air capacity, you mean your lungs vital capacity, then no. Your vital capacity is dictated by your anatomy (it's a function of your age and height). But if you're referring to your vo2max (maximal aerobic capacity) then yes, since this is a measure of oxygen use and indirectly, physical fitness.
