Swollen gums: Red & swollen gums are usually caused by bacteria around or under the gums secreting acid causing an infection called gingivitis. Bone loss that occurs is periodontal disease. Both need to be treated by a dentist by physically removing the bacteria with a cleaning, scaling &root planing, or periodontal surgery. U can also get bad breath. Get an exam and xrays to see the difference of what you have.

See a dentist : Bad breath associated with bleeding and sensitive gums is usually indicative of advanced stage of gingivitis or may be periodontitis with is inflammation of tissues surrounding teeth , this inflammations and infections results in secretion of bacterial toxins in the gums which in turn cause bad breath from the odor of the toxins, so see a dentist asap.
