Can you get oral herpes and not vaginal herpes?

Yes: The short answer is yes. Oral herpes (gold sores, fever blisters, etc) are much more common and more easily transmitted than vaginal herpes, largely because we touch more things with our mouth and oir our mouth is more exposed than the genitals...They tend to stay covered up most of the day.

Yes: Genital herpes is a disease caused by the herpes simplex virus (hsv), of which there are two types. Type 1 (hsv-1) usually causes oral herpes, an infection of the lips and mouth. In the past, hsv-1 was not known to cause genital herpes, but that is changing, especially among people who begin having sex at a young age. Still, in most cases, genital herpes is caused by hsv-2 herpes virus.
