Exercise: Just like a muscle, your brain needs constant exercise in order for it to stay fit. The more you exercise your brain with things like reading, doing crosswords or sudoku, the healthier it stays and the better memory you have. Also, physical exercise has been shown to improve brain function as it helps pump more blood through the brain.

Three things: Visiting a doctor (ensure no high blood pressure, prediabetes, high cholesterol, tobacco smoking, low thyroid or vitamin B12 deficiency); making lifestyle changes (exercise, nutrition, sleep) and participating in Alzheimer's prevention studies (esp if family risk) are three categories of action that ensure the highest likelihood of maintaining the best memory and thinking for the longest time.
