If it is significant: You should discuss it with your doctor. A simple fix would be to add some Ibuprofen as well as rest and intermittent heat/ice.

You have it backward: If you have chronic back pain which does not respond to other treatments, opiates can be used. Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) is a short acting medication which is used for breakthrough pain. You really need to talk to your doctor about is using a long acting pain medication which is time released and use the Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) for breakthrough. I do not know if you are a candidate for long term opiate use however.
