I have 100's dysplastic nevi moles. many are severely atypical. do we have to keep taking them off or is there another way to see if they are cancer.

Only way: They have high incidence of malignency ( melanoma ) you may have dysplastic nevi syndrom, most likely some one in the familty have it al;so . Melanoma is curable if excised early, abcd s of detection are asymerty, borders, color, diameter, and evalution by your dermatologist ( or surgeon ).
