If i lose a lot of weight will my diabetes be better controlled?

Possibly: Adult onset type 2 diabetes can be due to excess fat tissue. Weight loss can improve your situation and may correct your high sugar levels. The best thing is to include aerobic activities as well as dietary modification with low carbs and higher protein intake.

Should help: Weight control is a good way to help manage blood sugars—along with proper diet and exercise. Exercise helps use up the excess glucose circulating in the blood. If you exercise strenuously, check blood sugar for hypoglycemic episodes; carry snack like oj & peanut butter crackers. Aim for 2-pound weight loss per week as a goal.
