Taste Buds: Most likely she has irritated her taste buds from the food she ate. Some causes include salty food, spicy products, extreme temperature exposure to the tongue, alcohol, sugar candy and smoking. The combo of beef jerky and candy is most likely the culprit of her condition. A trial of swishing and swallowing with drinking water would calm down the buds. Avoid junk food as much as you can.
