Sleeping on side: Sleep in a darkened room. Use a white-noise machine or app to limit interruption of sleep. Avoid caffeine from mid-afternoon onward or altogether. Turn off electronic devices and avoid exercise for at least a couple of hours before going to bed. Read something relaxing before sleeping. Keep a sleep diary or, if possible, buy or borrow a sleep monitor device like zeo. Discuss and share data with ob.

Chamomile, benadryl (diphenhydramine).: Find a relaxing routine if possible, eat a light meal (e.g. Yogurt, warm milk, chamomile with toast, soup), try Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and/or melatonin with nature sounds and dim light. Avoid tv/internet - read a book instead (not e-book, regular paper edition!) and try to empty your mind of worries/stress. Lunesta/ambien are pregnancy category c, meaning they could cause fetal harm (not enough data).
