Curable: Mrsa is a resistant but nonetheless curable infection. Having sinusitis for 8 months often translates in having more than just one pathogen and if you had surgery, this may require an extended antibiotic regimen to cure it. Vancomycin or zyvox (linezolid) are both active against mrsa, although, vancomycin is an i/v one only.

It is treatable: Mrsa, or methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus, is a drug resistant form of the common staph bacteria. It is resistant to the medications commonly used, but not resistant to all antibiotics. It can be serious, as can staph infections from more susceptible bacteria, and needs proper treatment. The identification of the bacteria through culture and sensitivity is a step towards cure.
