If you are, you will eventually be able to eat regular meals.....However, most likely the reason you had your surgery is because of the food you eat in general. See below: As you heal, you should be able to resume a normal regular diet. Fatty foods should not cause a problem except some people experience abdominal gassy feelings or diarrhea. You should not get pains. But start carefully with smaller amounts of greasy foods soon after surgery to see how you feel.

Go ahead: There is no risk to eating fatty foods after cholecystectomy (aside from weight gain of course.) the pain that was triggered by fatty foods came from the gallbladder being stimulated to contract. Without the gallbladder there won't be the pain anymore. Of course you should eat healthy and exercise to avoid the health risks of obesity.
