Can prenatal vitamins help to conceive?

Not primarily: Prenatal vitamins won't help you to conceive, but they will help to protect the baby's health. Be sure to take frolic acid pills too.

Folic acid helps.: Folic acid enhances fertility to the point of increased risk for multiple gestation; it also decreases the risk of miscarriage and preterm birth. Finally, it prevents 75% of major cardiac anomalies and >90% of severe open neural tube defects (e.g. Anencephaly, spina bifida). Be sure to take 1-5 mg orally daily throughout your reproductive life (regardless of plans for pregnancy).
