How long does soreness last from heart cath done 3 days ago and why huge bruising at groin leg site of the cath?

Not uncommon: It's not uncommon to be soar at the cath site. Discoloration is also typical as i little bit of bleeding at the site will cause a black and blue area. I would give the soarness a week to ten days to resolve before getting worried about it.

About 1 week: Bruising is normal and happens commonly. The blood leaks around the catheter during procedure but is not noticed until the cells degrade and iron in hemoglobin is oxidized leading to color changes days later.
