Await biopsy: There are many benign and malignant causes of a growth in the rectum/colon, but there are also inflammatory conditions (reactive conditions) that can cause these symptoms. However, the only way to be sure is to do a biopsy, which will be performed coincident with the colonoscopy. You will need to wait for those biopsy results before moving forward. Good luck.
