Doubt "delirium": Delirium is a complex psychiatric syndrome that includes perceptual disturbances, hallucinations, and psychomotor agitation. It results from disturbance of higher cortical centers that can be caused by a variety of conditions. It is characterized by diffuse cognitive dysfunction, perceptual disturbances, altered sleep-wake cycle, thought and language disturbance, altered mood and affect.

Many: Confusion, disorientation, trouble with producing or understanding speech, sleep disturbances. Many illnesses are associated with delirium in children. Medication reaction; poisons; pans; anti-nmdar; status focal epilepsy; tick-borne illnesses; wnv; anemia; pneumonia; thyroid disease, etc. Please take your child to the emergency room and do not wait if this is the case.
