Depends on things...: Yellow is one of the normal stool colors, but usually in babies. For non-babies, stool color changes to more yellow if the stool is looser and is moving through the bowels in a shorter time, but that should be only temporary. Older children and adults don't have yellow stool as their normal stool, so a doctor can check to see if there is an infectious problem or gall bladder (bile) problem.
