What is the meaning of heavy mixed growth?

Please clarify.: This might be in regard to a bacterial culture of some sort, like a blood culture or throat culture, but there should be reference to a specific organism like staph or strep. Please look at your whole report or get a copy if you don't have one from your doctor, and have him/her explain it to you. Then come back here if you need something explained.

Lots of germs: This is a simple description of the amount and number of different germs appearing on a culture plate. The idea of doing a culture, is to spread out the sample over a wide area and see which individual germs are present. When there is "heavy" growth it means a lot. When it says mixed, it means there are many different germs in the same place.
