Years: It depends on the type of transplant, but recovery takes at least one, and usually several, years. After an allogeneic bone marrow transplant (someone else's cells who is not your identical twin), chronic graft-versus-host-disease can be an ongoing problem.

Sometimes shorter: It depends on the type of transplant. If you get your own cells (autologous) recovery is generally 3-6 months. For a transplant from a donor (allogeneic) some patients are back to work in 6 months but more typically return to work is 6-12 months but it can be longer if there are delayed complications.

Recovery time varies: Recover time will vary depending on many factors including age, general health of the patient, infection control, smoker or not, blood sugar control, the exact type of procedure, and post-operative and follow up care. Discuss it with your surgeon and get their opinion as to what they feel is a reasonable recovery time for you.

Depends: On the type of transplant Auto ( self) transplant within a month - baseline likely 3 months or less Allo. Discharge from hospital around count recovery. Within a month and then depends on complications. May take 3-6 months , in general I tell patients not to plan for work for a year.
