What are the benefits of bone marrow transplant?

Transplant: Most of the time transplant is done to achieve complete and longer remission.

Cure: Most bone marrow or stem cell transplants are done to cure the underlying problem such as a blood cancer or bone marrow failure. In some situations they are performed to try and prolong remissions.

Cure/ long remission: In lymphoma - auto transplant( self donor) cure Myeloma - auto transplant long remission Allo transplant ( donor other than self) cure but with a chance of toxicity
