Geographic Tongue: Generally caused by loss of the small bumps on your tongue known as papillae . Cause is unknown. It is not associated with cancer. If there is discomfort, avoidance of alcohol , spicy or salty foods and tobacco may provide some relief. Some toothpastes with tartar control agents can also cause discomfort. Mouth rinses may be prescribed by doctor or dentist . Have an exam done to cofirm diagnosis.
