How is low grade lymphoma usually treated?

Still controversial: Current thinking is that if in early stages, it may be ok to just follow since it is so slow growing. May not cause a problem for years. If more advanced, currently chemotherapy combined with immune therapy (usually a monoclonal antibody called rituximab) is used. Most patients can achieve remission but the disease is currently not considered curable.

Depends a lot on: What organs are affected, what symptoms, and critically if it expressed the b-cell marker cd-20. This conveys uses of the Rituximab antibody treatment, if any treatment at all is indicated, versus watchful waiting.

It depends: Low grade lymphoma may be treated in a variety of ways depending on how the lymphoma is behaving. Sometimes chemotherapy or radiation will be used. In many cases it can just be observed for weeks or months or even years before therapy is required.
