A member asked:

When is it ok to put powder on a baby's butt?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Seldom needed: Most powders are a waste of time & may create problems. They were very popular during an age when cloth diapers were standard & the fragrance helped cover the diaper pail odor. You could never get the urine smell out of the older ones. Today's disposables did away with the need. The talc can cause lung pbs if inhaled, starch is just food for germs & fragrance often keeps them congested.
