NSVD OK: Bacterial vaginosis causes problems if untreated with pprom (preterm premature rupture of membranes) or ptl (preterm labor). You should receive oral Flagyl (metronidazole) either 250mg 3/day x 1 week or 500 mg 2x/day x 1 week. Let your OB know if your symptoms persist since it could also be from a yeast infection. An exam should be done if the antibiotics don't work. Vag delivery is ok.

BV and pregnancy: Bv has been associated with preterm labor. That is why it is important to treat it. If oral and vaginal Metronidazole is not working, start taking a strong probiotic with billions of lactobacillus. It is over the counter.
