Should be evaluated: A primary care doctor can evaluate to see if there is a problem with unusual sensations from nerves coming out of the spine. When coughing, the pressure inside the chest goes up. When that happens, the pressure inside the spinal column also goes up. The pressure might press on nerves as they come out of the spine. The doctor can check for other symptoms that might suggest altered nerve signals.
