Mainly Relaxin: Relaxin is a hormone produced by the corpus luteum, decidua, and placenta. Relaxin contributes to relaxation of the uterine muscle, separation of the symphysis pubis and softening of the cervix. The separation of the symphysis pubis allows the pelvic bone to move and open, thus causing your hips to " give out .".
