Not necessarily.: If your heart rate has always been slow and you have no symptoms you don't need an md. But I should also advice to see a doctor make sure you don't have an irregular slow heart rate which is a symptomatic for the moment , i.e. Atrial flutter, which needs treatments.

Quite often- no: If you normally has slow pulse rate, have no symptoms (which is what asymptomatic means) & it is regular- that can be a variant of normal. Athletes may have slow heart rates because their hearts are pumping efficiently. If you have a drop in heart rate, it is irregular and their are symptoms - that warrants medical attention.
