Hemochromatosis.: Hereditary hemochromatosis (hh) is a disease in which the body inappropriately absorbs iron despite increasing iron in tissues. Eventually excess iron becomes toxic and can cause a host of problems. Treatment is periodic draining of blood which removes excess iron.
