Probably NOT: Metformin usually causes diarrhea right away if at all. You may experience 'stomach symptoms' (e.g. Diarrhea, cramps) at higher doses, however.

Be Optimistic: Just because medications can sometimes cause you to have certain side effects, it does not mean that you will experience it. Side effects have to be listed in case you experience it. This way you will not be surprised and you will be aware.

Probably not.: Not everyone who takes metformin gets diarrhea. After a month it looks like you are in the clear. You may be taking higher levels of metformin in the future so you may have some trouble but it looks good. Don't worry too much.
