What is a common cause for an enlarged kidney?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HYDRONEPHROSIS: A swollen kidney typically is due to a backflow or sluggish through flow out of it and into the bladder. Kidney stones/ bladder area blockage/massive prostate size and of course tumors are the most common causes. Usually your other kidney keeps things going until over burdened. This can cause kidney failure or significant irreversible damage.
