Reverse butterflies: Scapular stabilizer strengthening pulls the shoulder joint into the proper position. The shoulder blade muscles are key in keeping the shoulder in place. This in turn keeps the rotator cuff from overuse and strain. Merely strengthening the shoulder blades often dramatically reduce symptoms. Reverse butterflies, rows, and scapular retractions all help to build the muscles.
