Could be lethal: Hepatitis b can cause acute fulminant hepatitis and chronic active hepatitis that can lead to cirrhosis and sometimes liver cancer. Despite this, most infections result in resolution and even if not, most do not wind up with fatal consequences. Remember, there is a very good vaccine to prevent it.
