A member asked:

How can i address primary amyloidosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Prednisone, etc..: There is apparently no specific therapy for this. If there is an underlying cause, it should be treated. Otherwise, Prednisone and/or an chemotx., like Dexamethasone and Bortezomib or melphalan. Autologous bone marrow transplant with stem cell rescue can be done but patients are often too weak for this. It also depends on how bad it is and how much you might be willing to tolerate.
