Chronic bronchitis.: Chronic bronchitis is related to a history of smoking, for the most part. Treatment is with medications - mainly inhalers used daily and as needed for symptoms of shortness of breath. Sometimes oral steroids are used when chronic symptoms are more severe, and antibiotics are used for flares thought due to infection. Oxygen sometimes also helpful.
