Time: If the pain has progressed beyond a few weeks then a visit to your pcp is needed. Time and modification of daily activity is the best first treatment. If still hurting after a few weeks then physical therapy, chiropractic care and massage can also help. Otc pain meds are usually adequate. If conservative care is not effective then imaging with a MRI scan could help identify a source.
