Sure: Depends on cause. Most laryngitis occurs with a cold, which means it 's viral. It will improve with time. Some laryngitis is bacterial, but less common. An antibiotic would be used. Some chronic laryngitis could be due to reflux or allergy, and so would be treated with proton pump inhibitors or allergy medications.
