Depends on sites : For cervical study the pap smear is the routine. For other sites a physician can paint the area with a high concentration peroxide solution and areas invaded by the hpv virus can show up white against a healthy background. Biopsy's can be taken to confirrn the lesion or they can be treated as part of the diagnostic procedure.Blood tests can reveal if you have antibodies to the germ.
