Bacteria don't cause: Both colds and flu are caused by viruses. Flu hits like a ton of bricks--you're fine and an hour later you have a chill, then a fever and ache all over. Colds come on slower, rarely cause much of a fever or bad muscle pains. Go get a flu shot next month and you won't get a chance to find out first hand.
