Raynaud's: this depends on the severity of the problem. Making sure to use gloves-preferably mittens on the hands to increased warmth is recommended, as well as the use of warm socks to protect feet. If there is an underlying condition causing the Raynaud's, this should be taken care of. If not, discuss other treatments with your primary doctor, which may include biofeedback or some antihypertensive meds

Work with doctors: A patient with significant Raynaud symptoms can work closely with his primary care and rheumatology doctors to identify the things that trigger the vasospasm (in order to avoid them) and do trials of various drug therapies to see which medications or combinations of drugs give the best effect. In severe cases, surgery on the nerves may be considered. Some experimental treatments can be tried.

Look for diseases: When a patient has raynaud's phenomenon (vasospasm leading to poor circulation in the fingers and toes), his doctors will look for the common causes such as autoimmune disorders, drug side effects, hormonal imbalances, etc... If no medical condition is found that is causing the symptoms, then the disorder is called "primary". If a condition is found, then the disorder is "secondary".

Is TMJ typically associated with raynaud's disease?

No: Tmj (temporal-mandibular joint) symptoms are not usually associated with raynaud's disease. Some of the medical conditions that can cause raynaud's syndrome are types of arthritis or autoimmune disorders, so there is a chance that a patient can have tm joint symptoms. Emotional stress can trigger raynaud's symptoms, and some people do have stress-related habits that worsen their TMJ symptoms.
