Xylitol gums: Any sugar free gum is ok for you as long as you don't overdo it. You don't want to chew to the point that you wear away teeth and make your jaw sore. Look for gum that is sweetened with xylitol. Xylitol has antibacterial properties that reduces cavity causing bacteria and is approved by the ada.

Gum is ok: Chewing gum is good in many ways...Keeps the teeth clean, moves the TMJ and exercises facial muscles. But, if it is sugared gum the you are supplying the mouth for a good source of sugars to promote decay. Switch to sugar-free and even at that switch to different sugar free gums. The body can adapt and make fuel out of the alcohol sugars in "sugar-free". Also...You jaws could get tired.
