High!: Roughly 36% of the world’s rabies deaths occur in india each year, most of those when children come into contact with infected dogs.Rabies is caused by a virus that is transmitted to humans through the infected saliva of a range of animals. But most human deaths follow a bite by, or exposure to, an infected dog.

A 18-year-old female asked:
Is it possible for your cats to get rabies and give it to you when both family and cats haven't left england worrying about it to much.

Calm thoughts: These are questions for your family veterinarian as well as healthtap. Your cats should be vaccinated against rabies on the schedule your vet recomm. You can't catch rabies without you yourself receiving a bite from a mammal with rabies (or a corneal transplant from someone with rabies, only literature example).
