Car type does not : The car type usually does not matter unless it may be a low entry type vehicle. It is usually the amount of support the car seat offers and the amount of driving that you may do. Sometimes adjusting the seat and steering wheel can help as well as placing a rolled up towel behind the small of your back. Getting out of the vehicle safely and periodically for a position change can help.

Car needs to fit: You need to fit into your car as you do into your shoes otherwise your back pain will get much worse.
