A member asked:

Might mirrors affect self perception?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mirrors are reality: Mirrors certainly reflect the self in the most accurate sense in the same way a scale reflects weight. If you mean do mirrors have a negative effect on self perception, the answer would be no - its the thoughts that come along with the perception that can be distorted, helpful, or harmful to oneself.
