A violent boyfriend: Is a dangerous situation. Call a domestic violence shelter or a psychologist or counselor who understands domestic violence to help you decide on a plan. Find supportive family & friends. Because violence often gets worse when you leave or even threaten to leave, you need to prepare carefully. If he recognizes his problem, he needs to get help. If not, there is little chance he will change.
