Colds: Virus exposure is most likely. Any other kids around? In daycare? Unusual possibilities are immunodeficiencies which are rare.

Define frequent !: An 18 mo is expected to have 5-7 respiratory infections/yr derived from community exposure and their behaviors. These kids constantly have their fingers in their mouths or touching the world with moist digits. This gathers new germs daily. If the kid is draining more often is may be environmental irritants or allergies.
