Black molds: There are reltively safe balck molds and some, such as stachybotrus, that can make you sick if exposed to high amounts of spores. There is a discussion of black molds in the patient education page of www.Drcordas.Com.

Not dangerous: Black mold can cause symptoms: nose, throat, and chest. Some make a poison (mycotoxin), most don’t. Air exposure not severe except for people with allergies, asthma, lung diseases, and immune deficiency. Don’t swallow molds. Clean up carefully. Black Mold Risks: Stachybotrys chartarum species of mold is called black mold. Some people are sensitive to molds. Symptoms of black mold exposure: • Chronic coughing and sneezing • Irritation to the eyes, mucus membranes of the nose and throat • rashes • Chronic fatigue • Persistent headaches In particularly severe cases of prolonged exposure, black mold health effects can be more dangerous.
