What does a negative pregnancy test look like ? are both lines dark ? i took the equate one from walmart (walmart brand) and i was curious if it was a false negative or if it was too early my period isnt due for another 2 weeks

It depends: Each test is different. Most tests show two bars as positive. The package will tell you the best time to take a test. Typically mid void first thing in the morning. The closer to the time of expected next period is best.

Too early to test: Conception occurs within day or so of the sex. It takes about 3 weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG for a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully.
