Absolutely!!!!!!: Suboxone is a very long acting medication and it is an opiod mixed with another medication to block the addicting properties. It stays active for up to 3 days and most patients start feling severe withdraws in 2 to 3 days. It is very powerful and should only be stopped under the supervision of a liscences and certified Suboxone doctor.

Opiate Withdrawal: The active ingredient in Suboxone is called Buprenorphine (bupe). Bupe is by itself an opiate and is used as part of what is known as the harm reduction model with opiate replacement therapy. The harm reduction model attempts to improve the opiate addict's overall level of functioning while causing less harm and in some cases-death. Suboxone is not a cure for opiate addiction.

YES!!: Well because it is an opiate and the plan is to taper off safely and without withdrawal.

Be careful...: Because Suboxone only partially activates the "opiate" receptors many people believe the withdraw is "easier" than pain pills/heroin. That's like asking me if it's better to break your arm or your leg? Some say your arm, others would rather break their leg but each for different reasons. I say they both suck and is why most people choose to avoid both! be careful if someone tells you different!
