See an OB/GYN: Please do this asap. Not only is this not normal, it can develop rapidly into something more severe. You need to be examined and may need further testing and imaging studies.

Bacterial vaginosis: Ask to be tested for bacterial vaginosis. It's common and causes these symptoms. A retained gauze would be easy for the doctor to check for during an exam.
