Probably lymph nodes: We have over 300 chains of lymph nodes on our heads/necks, and it's likely that what you're noticing is a few nodes that have been irritated and swollen up, and now are remaining big; this doesn't necessarily mean they are infected; sometimes the nodes get large when they are just doing their job. But if they work hard all the time, they stay large and you notice them.
