How can you detect breast cancer?

Mammogram.: A majority of breast cancers diagnosed in the US are detected by screening mammography before they can be palpated. Mammograms, however, are not perfect, so self-examination monthly and yearly physical examination are important, as well. In select cases, an MRI may be used to detect breast cancer.

Imaging: The most common method of detecting breast cancer is through imaging, either mammograms, ultrasound, or mri. In addition some cancers are detected through physical exams.
